The Journey Series: Value & Worth
What ways does society impose superficial standards on you? How does this make you feel? Does this affect your mood or mindset?
It’s easy to focus on the feelings of “not enough” or places in our life where we feel we have fallen short. We often forget to celebrate who we really are: our abilities to maneuver through crisis, to organize tasks, reach out to others, guide our families and our businesses. The reality is we do what needs to be done. Why do we overlook all that we CAN do and HAVE done in life?
Deepen the understanding of your Value and Worth with the help of The Lord with these 3 simple steps this week:
1.) Read Romans 8:38-39: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2.) Start your day in prayer: Ask for God’s truth about your value and worth to find a firm foundation in your heart and pray that this truth would set you free from all other standards of measuring your value.
3.) Write down something you can celebrate about your God-given value. What part of your personality has most helped you through difficult times? Put this where you can see it. When it catches your eye during the week, take a second to thank God for this gift.
Lord, Psalm 139:15 says “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Help me to remember these words this week. In moments of self doubt, let me draw on your strength and love. In your name, we pray. Amen.”
